 My
name is Dr. John A. Volpe. I am a Podiatric Physician and
surgeon who specializes in the complete care of the foot and
ankle. I am Board Certified in foot surgery by the American
Board of Podiatric Surgeons, and I am a Diplomat of American
Board of Podiatric Surgeons and Fellow, American College of
Foot & Ankle Surgeon. I am a native Rhode Islander born
and raised in Cranston.
After completing 4-years of undergraduate studies in Psychology
and Biology at Providence College, I then continued my medical
studies in Des Moines, Iowa at the University of Des Moines/College
of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. This was a 4-year curriculum,
complete with multiple externships.
During my last year, I was able to travel across the country
to different hospitals where I gained vast knowledge and
surgical training in the area of foot care. While in California
at the University of Southern California, trained with a
team of doctors who specialized in the treatment of trauma
to the lower extremities.
I completed an additional 2-year surgical residency also
in Des Moines, Iowa. I was trained in surgical reconstuction
of the foot and ankle, sports medicine, diabetic foot care
as well as many other areas. I have now been in practice
in Rhode Island for over 10 years. My practice, Rhode Island
Foot & Ankle, Inc., is conveniently located in Cranston
with branch offices in Wickford and North Providence.
