PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Dr. Volpe had the honor of participatng in the Olympic
Torch Relay in December of 2001. Dr. Volpe was nominated
for being an inspiration for others. He was chosen to be
one of the Guardians of the Flame as it made it's way through
the streets of New Bedford on December 27, 2001.
Dr. Volpe is a cancer survivor and is a member of the Peleton
Project which is part of the Lace Armstrong Foundation.
This foundation hosted a bike ride every April in which
they are able to raise millions of dollars each year for
cancer research.
Through his hard work and determination, Dr. Volpe is dedicated
to raise funds for the battle of cancer and the search for
its cure.
